Mike:
I really enjoy the mix of elements and sounds in this piece, especially the water and the birds. This sound makes me think of a hallucination with animals while someone is eating dinner and showering. I don't understand exactly what is happening but I am intrigued.
Rob:
I love the consistent background noise throughout the beginning background. This noise unifies the whole piece keeping everything connected. I wish that the overall sound piece was more consistent with the beginning noises. The beginning reminded me of a star wars scene or someone on a karate mission but the typing and pencil writing lost me. The water sounds were extremely calming.
Alki:
The beginning sound sequence is so amazing! Omg I love the train, pencil, water dripping, dinging, and bell sound so much. This sound is aesthetically pleasing to my ears and very enjoyable to listen to. The only thing I would change is how repetitive everything is, I feel like it would be fun if everything speed up really fast and then slowed down multiple times within the overall piece. The piece reminds me of an ambient sound you would hear during a facial or massage. It feels so relaxing and calming.
Jeremy:
I love the use of animals and babies! I feel like the really loud intense parts are almost too much like I jumped out of my chair scared. I can't exactly figure out what is going on but I can tell it has something to do with communication and the sound of species. This piece also reminds me of aliens or like something landed on earth and is hearing all these sounds for the first time.
Cal:
It feels like someone is walking through a park and then goes into a dream or hallucination. This piece is extremely interesting and intriguing. I want to know more! I feel like I am going through a dream or losing myself while listening to this sound. It's what I imagine taking drugs and passing out would sound like.
Hannah:
I love the vibe of this piece. It starts out as a nice walk and then turns into a rapid sprint. I like how intriguing it is! I really want to know who or what they are running from. The alien like sounds kind of freaked me out but other than that it was an interesting listening experience. I didn't like how it just ended without us knowing if the thing running was okay or what happened.
Caden:
The deep breathing was an interesting element added to this piece. I couldn't tell if I was scared by this noise or if happy that the person was breathing. Listening to the sizzling almost made me smell food. Overall, the mood of this sound was intense cooking. I also really like the variety in this piece, it never got dull or repetitive.
Garret:
I love that this piece depicted a stressful morning and then it ended in a calming matter. I could feel the stress and anxiety. The calming end really brought my mind and ears back to reality. I honestly don't have any bad things to say, maybe less repetition in some of the sounds.
Tasia:
This sound reminded me of a typical day of remote work. I could imagine remote work and how it feels like a never ending cycle. I also liked how you repeated talking to the cat. I could imagine being so lonely in quarantine just talking to my cat. I didn't completely understand the guitar in the storyline but I loved how calming it was. I felt the calm and the quite vibe of being at home during 2020.
Brendan:
I like how someone was talking and a train cut them off. This effect was so interesting and cool! I honestly had a hard time following the storyline but I liked your use of sound and effects. I also laughed when the person opened up the can and said did someone say bevergino.
Jordan:
This sound piece honestly gave me an enchanted forest vibe or a feeling like someone is about to get murdered. I really like how intriguing this piece is and how it makes me feel.
I also love the use of sounds and variety in elements. I wish you added more of the weird alien sounds because those added so much to your overall piece.
Jake:
I love the distorted voices at the beginning. I really enjoyed how the sound made you feel like you were on drugs or experiencing some wild trip. I also like how experimental this sound is, like I have never heard anything like this. I can envision the storyline and follow with what is happening and I really appreciate that. Overall, I think you did really amazing at conveying a psychedelic trip and I found this sound to be extremely interesting and original.
Maggie:
I really enjoy the mix of elements and sounds in this piece, especially the baby and walking sounds. I don't really understand what is going on throughout this piece but it sounds like flashbacks and digging. The feeling I get when listening to this is like I did something wrong. I feel very anxious and regretful but I don't understand why I am feeling like that. The typing at the end makes me think that it had something to do with a computer.
Anjali:
This sound is very peaceful and happy. When listening to these sounds I imagine someone sitting at a cafe doing homework. I love all of the food sounds that you incorporated. I also love how easy this scene was to follow. I can picture the sounds and the feelings of sitting in a cafe. The only thing that I would change is the same background noise throughout. I would switch it up so it doesn't take away from the rest of your sounds.
Dzifah:
This scene brought me into the kitchen. I could imagine the boiling water, the blender and the sink running. This meal sounded like a lot of work to make and is probably delicious. The only thing that I would change is use of more unique sounding sounds. Like make it a tad more experimental but overall, amazing job!
Michael:
I love the use of the guitar sounds throughout your piece. This sound was extremely calming and lovely throughout except it did take away from the other sounds. My mind just focused on the guitar and missed some of the details. Overall, you did a really great job creating a calm nice.
Megan:
I really love the calming water sounds and nature sounds. I could picture someone biking next to sea just humming and enjoyed life. I also like how it transitioned into an elevator and beeping noises and then back to the water. This transition made me think that the person was stressed and thought about the sea. Or was using humming and day dreaming to relax. I think that this was an interesting idea and helpful. I think that it's a wonderful idea to have a safe space to go to when stressed.
Gavin: I liked the use of human voices and birds in this piece. I can picture the birds walking and flying around near the ocean. I didn't understand where exactly the baby laugh came into the storyline. I wish that there was little more of a narrative to follow along. Overall, you did a good job!
Jacob:
I really like the effects you added to the breathing to make it seem like this person was time traveling. I felt like this person was dreaming or time traveling into different dimensions or time zones. You have a great variety of sounds and feelings throughout. I really loved this soundscape. The only thing I would possibly change is the toilet flushing transition but even that worked amazing.
Sarah O:
I like how mixed outdoor noises with sounds of muffled tv noises. I think that this created an experimental feeling and sound. I felt confused and almost like I was sedated listening the world around me. I honestly have never experienced anything quite like this. The only thing that I would change is the use of repetition in your piece. I think switching it up would make it even more exciting and interesting. Overall, this was a really unique and cool sound.
Calvin:
I love the mix between the dripping sound and the babies laugh. That was one of the coolest transitions that I have ever heard. I felt like I was dreaming or in another dimension experiencing the world. I also like the variety of sounds that you used to create this. My mind and body were going through a weird trans while listening to this. I would add a part of really fast intense sounds to add some drama but you did an amazing job! I really loved listening to this piece.
Alan:
I really like how you used effects to make the baby and dog sound shift. I thought this was really cool and interesting. I almost felt like these noise were alarming like the weird alien like scratching noise and the loud train noises. I don't really understand the storyline or what exactly is happening but it sounds really cool. I like how experimental and original this sound is. I also didn't understand the silence before the dinging.
